Summer Wise Women’s Gathering at Horserenity
Wise Women’s Gathering
Last autumn I hosted three Wise Women Gatherings at the beautiful Kites Farm, in Blandford Forum. This is the home of Horserenity and a very special, gentle herd of horses. These were simple but very powerful groups; a coming together of midlife women who wanted to take a little time away from the stresses and demands of their lives and make a deeper connection with themselves. We found moments that touched us as well as moments of joy.
Midlife can present extra challenges for so many women. Changing hormones can often have an unanticipated significant impact, which can affect so many areas of our lives. Demands of work and careers, relationships, home and family life, ageing parents and all sorts of other things can compete and sometimes feel harder to juggle and navigate. For some women this can also be a time when neurodivergence rears its head and past difficulties can feel harder to keep tucked away in the past. Or you may simply be feeling that you would like an opportunity to celebrate this time of life as you move into a chapter of greater wisdom and freedom.
So often, if you can find a space that feels safe enough to allow your nervous system to slow down, with support and community, things can not only start to feel more manageable but you may discover there are wonderful things to celebrate.
I am excited to be offering another series of these inspiring sessions on three Thursday afternoons in August. There will be great value in attending all three, so we are offering a discount for this. However, there is also an option to book each session separately if you aren’t able to manage them all. Join us to reconnect with yourself, your roots, and the land around you alongside our horse guides.
No prior experience with horses is needed, and there is no riding, only presence, connection, and calm. You are very welcome even if you feel a little nervous around horses but would like some support to learn more.
This course is for you if you are a woman who is:
- Navigating peri-menopause, menopause, or beyond.
- Feeling stretched by life’s demands.
- Rarely finding time for yourself.
- Wanting more time to connect with nature and your own inner grounding.
- Seeking to move through this stage of life with empowerment and vitality.
Let the land replenish your energy. Let the shared wisdom of women lift you up. Let the presence of our horses guide you back to the essence of who you are.
Why horses?
Horses have a beautiful way of showing us what it means to live in the present moment. Free from judgement, they respond to us exactly as we are, reflecting our emotions and energy with honesty and sensitivity. This natural attunement offers us powerful insights into ourselves and how we move through the world.
Like us, horses have nervous systems that shift between states of calm and balance and stress and hypervigilance. When given the freedom to express themselves naturally, horses are remarkably skilled at returning to balance. Simply being in the presence of a calm, grounded herd can help us do the same, gently guiding our own nervous systems towards greater ease, equilibrium and inner calm.
At Horserenity we emphasise empowering both horses and humans to have choice. No person or animal will ever be pushed to do something that feels too far outside their comfort zone. Our skilled facilitators will support you to gain what you need from each session, while also checking in with our herd to ensure their wellbeing is always honoured. Together, we’ll explore what the herd can teach us about presence, resilience, and the restorative power of simply being.
I am really pleased to be joined for these sessions by my wonderful Horserenity colleague, Daimon Adams. Daimon is an experienced and reflective Equine Facilitated Practitioner who brings a light touch to her work with women and horses.
What to expect from the sessions.
Each two-hour session begins with an opening circle. We’ll take time to settle in through gentle grounding, breathwork, or a short meditation – there will be lots of options. From there, you’ll be invited to spend some quiet, mindful time with the herd, engaging in activities that encourage reflection and connection.
Each week will focus on a different theme around self-care, inner awareness, and building a deeper connection with yourself. After time with the horses, we’ll come back together to journal and, if you feel comfortable, share any insights or experiences that stood out to you. There will be no pressure to share anything verbally. The sessions will be hosted in a neurodivergent friendly and trauma-informed way.
To close, we’ll finish with a short grounding or breathwork exercise, helping you to integrate what you’ve learned so you can leave feeling calm, centred, and ready to carry those insights into your everyday life.
